While many international parties focus on casual socializing, the Welcome Tokyo Language Exchange is built on a foundation of education and mutual growth.
Our founder, after traveling to over 70 countries around the world, returned to Japan only to face a major problem: there was no place to maintain and brush up on English skills in a natural way. While there are many English schools, online lessons, and "Cafe English" sessions, these are teacher-student environments. You can't make real, lasting friends or experience a true cultural exchange there.
That is why we started this event over 20 years ago. We wanted to create a space that is NOT for dating or hooking up, but for serious connection and language practice.
For Foreign Residents (Expats): This is a vital place to connect with locals and practice Japanese in person.
For Locals: Whether you have returned from studying abroad or need to use English for work, this is where you can maintain your skills with international people who have a global background.
