After the excitement of the Osaka Expo, the Kansai region is becoming Japan’s new hub for international communication and cross-cultural exchange. Kyoto, with its historical charm and growing global community, has become the perfect spot for Kyoto Osaka expat events and Kyoto English speaking events.
Every week, our events welcome people from over 30 nationalities — from international students studying Japanese, to professionals living long-term in Japan. Participants come to enjoy Kyoto nightlife, meet Japanese friends, and join relaxed yet meaningful English-Japanese parties Kyoto where new friendships start naturally.
As a staff member, you’ll be part of Kyoto’s expanding network of foreigner events Kyoto — welcoming people from all walks of life while helping them connect through language and laughter.

🌸 Your Role at the Event
As a team member of our Kyoto language exchange event, you will:
Greet guests and check them in at the venue
Introduce conversation games and themes
Support participants in switching between Japanese and English
Help beginners feel comfortable joining group discussions
Communicate with international guests using polite and friendly Japanese
Because our event attracts many people who are learning Japanese or just starting to practice English, you’ll play a key role in balancing both languages.For that reason, a high level of Japanese proficiency (N2 or N1 equivalent) is required.
Your communication will help guests who might be shy, nervous, or new to Japan feel welcome. This is why we are looking for someone who not only speaks English well but can also guide Japanese learners smoothly — someone who truly understands cultural differences and enjoys

💰 Salary & Benefits
・Hourly wage: ¥1,400–¥2,000 (performance review three times a year)
・Transportation allowance: up to ¥500 per day
・Incentive bonus system

🌸 Who We’re Looking For
We welcome candidates who:
Speak Japanese fluently (JLPT N2 or N1 level)
Enjoy talking with people and supporting international events
Are students or working professionals living in Kyoto or nearby cities
Are available evenings and weekends
Are interested in cross-cultural exchange, English, or hospitality
Experience abroad or TOEIC 700+ preferred
Working Holiday Visa holders must have at least 10 months remaining
Whether you are a local university student, an exchange student with strong Japanese, or a bilingual who loves community work — this role gives you the chance to help foreigners practice Japanese and Japanese participants improve English in an authentic, friendly setting.
